Uma Thurman breaks-up her engagement

Text

Star of the movie Kill Bill broke up with her fiancé, multimillionaire Arki Busson, and returned his diamond ring.

Daily Mail reports that actress Uma Thurman left her fiancé, the French multimillionaire, Arki Busson.

Famous Hollywood diva is director Quentin Tarantino’s favorite actress and she was the main star of his films Pulp Fiction (1994), Kill Bill (2003), and Kill Bill 2 (2004). Uma Thurman and a rich owner of a hotel chain, Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson, have been in a relationship since the summer of 2007 and their engagement was announced a year ago.

Her engagement ring was made out of eight-karat diamonds and she will probably be giving it back quite soon.

A source close to the famous couple says that the 39-year-old actress and 47-year-old businessman will remain on good terms in spite of their break-up. Prior to ‘dating’ Uma, Busson was in a relationship with Australian supermodel Elle McPherson, with whom he has two children. Their wedding was canceled in July of 2005.

The actress has had two marriages: one with British actor Gary Oldman, and the Hollywood ‘bad-boy’, Ethan Hawk, with whom she has daughter Maya (11) and son Levon (7).

Great distance

After the news about the termination of Uma and Arpad’s engagement reached the public, stories began to circulate that the reason for break-up was the distance between the two. Specifically, Busson wants to be near his ex-girlfriend Ellen and their children who live in London, while Uma wants to spend most of her time in Los Angeles so her children could be closer to their father.

In recent interviews, Uma has stated that this was the main reason why she could never move to England permanently.  Last September, the actress announced that she was engaged, but she could not say what their wedding date was. She also stressed that they would not rush in front of the altar, and that they would marry when they were ready. As the things stand now, it seems that this is not very likely to happen.
