VIDEO: 10-Time National Fencing Champ Doris Vrecko

While TV host Doris Vrecko posed for our photographer, tourists from Japan thought Catherine Zeta-Jones arrived in Zagreb.

ZAGREB, CROATIA – Doris Vrecko is a ten-time national champion in fencing, a model and a TV host with two university degrees. However, nothing of this was interesting to the nation until her left breast fell out of her outfit at the Zagreb Wella Fashion Week last year. After her curves brought her huge fame over night, and she was names a sex-bom, Doris has become appealing to athletes, esepcially Nikola Karabatic. For a while, the rumour was that they were dating, but they are both mysterious about the subject.

To find out more about this young woman, we talked with her as she was getting a hair cut at the Zanetti salon. She did not wish to confirm or deny the attachment with Karabatc, but just smiled.

I found out I was in a relationship from the media, so it would be no surprise to hear that I broke up with him.

The fact that she is a real sex-bomb is evident from the jam she caused on the stairs of Zagreb`s Upper Town, as she posed for our photographer. A Japanese tourist was so msmerised with Doris` beauty that he asked us if she was Catherine Zeta-Jones.

You are famous for being a  ten-time national campion in fencing. How did you chose this sport?

- I did tennis, horseback riding and played the piano when I was younger. I gave musical education and my piano teacher would always treat me as her princess with royal hobbies. She said I only had to take up fencing. After that, I started training it. Even though my parents thought I would soon lose interest, they patiently drove me to practic. However, I stuck with this sport, which I have been training since the age of 10.

How much has fencing helped you in other areas of life?

- It gave me order, work and discipline. I have a certain biorhythm – I get us early, go to bed early, I have discipline. It also includes certain sacrifices, but I never complained and if I were born again, I would choose the same. You get agility, speed, technique with this sport. However, I have not been active for a year and a half. When I wom my tenth championship, I decided to retire while on top. I wanted to be remembered aftre supreme results.

How to guys react when you tell them what you do?

He`s not my type. I don`t go for older guys! Optionally a year less or more than me, but not a big age difference.

- I always socialised with people from the world of sports and people who knew what I did, therefore nobody was surprised. Now, since I have a public job, I hear comments like `a dangerous kid`, but I`m completely harmless, like a kitten.

You left sports behind and headed out for broadcasting. Have you previously considered this career?

- No, it sort of came spontaneously. I received an offer from the television and after doing a rehearsal shoot, I stayed. But I am still getting educated and see myself doing this for the upcoming years. Helga Vlahovic and Oliver Mlakar are people you can learn a lot from and they are truly my role models in this work.

Your private life is not close to the public. Can you describe what your day looks like?

- I think I`m a simple girl! I don`t like going out. I wake up early, go for a walk and coffee with my mum, the poor thing puts up with me 24 hours a day. Then I go to work, this is a period with a lot of work at the moment. I mostly spend time with my family, we hang out, play cards. I am happy when we are all together. Mum and I realised that we don`t function without dad. We are all quite close.

Fine, but there is no love partner in this story. Are you seeing anyone?

- I found out I was in a relationship from the media, so it would be no surprise to hear that I broke up with him.

Are you talking about handball player Nikola Karabatic?

- I don`t wish to comment. I don`t wish to comment whether he is handsome or not, because what ever I say, it won`t be right.

That`s alright. Nothing about Karabatic, but how about Croatian football team selsector Slaven Bilic?

- He`s not my type. I don`t go for older guys! Optionally a year less or more than me, but not a big age difference.

How much has beauty helped you in your life?

- I would not be humble to say it did not help. Of course it does, however, it complicates things in toher areas. Other women usually look for a flaw and say – at least she`s stupid. I have two university degrees, will soon attain a third one, I am a ten-time national champion in fencing (a sport which includes the brain), therefore I`m not stupid, people. Rather make me out to be ugly than stupid.

Sport is an important part of your life?

- Yes, I did horseback riding, skiing, tennis and all sorts of things, but I like watching football and hnaball. I guess it`s because my whole family does sports. MY dad did handball, mum and dad drove racing cars, my sister is a boxing champion at the police games. Sport is in my genes.

What sort of clothes do you like to wear?

- I like to wear comfortable clothes. Mum usually nags that I have to do myself up, because I don`t even wear make-up. Now when I have broadcasts, I like to look beautiful. I love stilettos! I have 40 pairs of them at home, but never get to wear them. I love buying them, but since I don`t go out, I don`t have any place to wear them. I like branded clothes, mostly. Mum allows me to buy anything. I never bought a thing without mum.

What sort of guys are you attracted to?

- You know how it goes, you look at the handsome, tall, manly, dark men, but in the end, I will marry a short, bald, ugly guy. The fact is that I am drawn to dark, tall, well built athletes. Since I did sports, I mostly met athletes.

Are athletes better at sex?

- I`m shy, I can`t talk about his.

Plasti surgery?

- I don`t oppose it. I was talking with my mum the other day and said that I`d iron everything out when I get older. Why not?! Especially if people have some sort of a deformity. He only necessary thing is to have a limit.

You were named the “best breast of Cratia” after the incident at the Zagreb Wella Fashion Week.

- Thanks to everyone and I am very proud of this title.
