VIDEO: Paul Potts Launched Among the Stars

Text

The awkward cell phone salesman Paul Potts has won the Britain's Got Talent contest.

After sweeping the jury off their feet, new British star Paul Potts won the Britain’s Got Talent contest yesterday. Reprising his first appearance before the jury, he sang the aria “Nessun Dorma,” in its entirety this time, which ensured his victory.

Potts got two million votes, which likely earned him short-term fame. This will be a very busy week for him and he is soon scheduled to appear before the Queen herself. Simon Cowell, jury member and Sony executive, already announced that Potts would soon start recording his first album. Awards never end, though. On top of everything, Paul will receive a nice check for the amount of 100,000 pounds.

Before he performs for the Queen in December this year, Potts will have to work out a plan to stay on the scene since he really has a good voice, but many trained singers also do, but will never achieve the same success without commercial competitions. Still, Potts’ success is a real silver screen story, it just remains to be seen if it has sequels.
