Britney`s dad still in control, The Boss goes unplugged for Halloween, Keanu`s day in court and more...

Britney Spears' dad will retain control over the once-troubled singer's personal and business affairs for an indefinite period of time. A Los Angeles judge called the conservatorship necessary to protect Britney from those trying to take advantage of her. Under the protection of her dad, Spears has turned around her life, reaching a custody settlement with ex-husband Kevin Federline and releasing a hit single.

Actor Keanu Reeves had his day in court. He testified that he did not knock down a photographer to avoid having his picture taken. Saying instead the man stumbled while walking backward. The photographer claims he lost earnings because of injuries to his wrist in the March 2007 incident.

The Boss is going unplugged for Halloween this year. The 59-year-old rocker says on his web site that he and his wife have decided to tone down their normal elaborate trick-or-treat display at their New Jersey mansion. The singer says it created a safety concern for family and kids.

Patrick Swayze says acting has helped him in his fight against pancreatic cancer. The 56-year-old, who's currently working on a new television drama, told the New York Times that, while the illness is a battle, he's proud of what he's doing.

Cloris Leachman's ballroom days may be over now after getting the boot from "Dancing with the Stars." But the 82-year-old Oscar winning actress seemed to be in fine spirits after she was seen leaving the theater where the show is taped Tuesday night.
