The HDZ committee collected 15,000 signatures by Saturday for the erection of Franjo Tudjman’s monument in front of the Mimara Museum.
Marijan Fiket, president of the HDZ’s Upper Town-Medvescak chapter told Jutarnji list that the petition was organised to provide citizens with the possibility of expressing their opinion about the location of the monument to the first Croatian president.
When enough signatures are collected, Fiket says they will be submitted to the City government in an appeal to the Mayor that the monument not be set up on the periphery of the city. Citizens can sign the petition every Saturday at 17 locations in the city.
