All three women described the attempted kidnapping in front of the Fuego club where Britt Lapthorne was last seen.
The three girls said that whilst they were in Dubrovnik, a group of men tried to kidnap them around the time that Britt Lapthorne disappeared, report the Australian media. The investigation that Australia’s Channel 7 showed during the show Saturday Night, links Britt Lapthorne with the young tourists that managed to escape the kidnap attempts.
Britt Lapthorne was last seen in the Fuego club in Dubrovnik on September 18, 2008. Her body was found three weeks later at the Boninovo beach nearby.
“I heard a car accelerate and I turned around and saw a blue van with two men in the front seat and a man hanging out the side sliding door, coming towards me” “I have never run so fast or screamed so loud in my life” said Amber.
Besides this Australian, two other girl talked about attempted kidnappings. Jennifer Blanchard, a tourist from New York, said that ten days after the disappearance of Britt Lapthorne, two men came up to her in front of the Fuego club. They tried to arrest her, but she realised that instead of a police badge they showed her a credit card, so she fled.
The photo robot of the person believed to have attacked Jennifer Blanchard was shown to the Australian who presented herself as Kate, who two men also tried to kidnap a year ago from the Fuego club. Kate recognised the person on the photo robot that attacked her.
We add that the Dubrovnik resident Vinko Cosmai, the owner of the Fuego night club, said in a conversation for the newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija, that he will sue the Australian television station “Channel 7” for false claims. Channel 7’s documentary about the death of the Australian Britt Lapthrne claims that his club is the gathering place of an organized group of kidnappers who kidnap girls and women who are foreign tourists to Dubrovnik.
