While people were having good time listening to tamburitza music at Ban Jelacic Square, a few meters further a new jazz club called “Vip” was opened. There were many fans of this musical expression which is usually considered as a little bit more serious. There were a lot of celebrities as well.
The basement of Gradska kavana is opened again after 11 years and has been fully functional since Thursday. The owner of the club Drazen Kokanovic thinks that this club will soon become a well known place for all those who want to have good time and enjoy jazz music at the same time. The ticket is 20 HRK (after 8 p.m.) and the afternoons are reserved for having coffee, listening of music and reading books.
- I am familiar with jazz music. The ex-BP club will work here from now on. I am very happy that this space has been purposefully used – the former Minister of culture Antun Vujic said. He was having fun accompanied by Milan Bandic, Darko Stazic, Iva Majoli and Zoran Sprajc.
- I love jazz and I love every kind of good music. However, I am here to support my friend Kokanovic. Every town in Croatia should have such a place, that’s for sure – the singer of a popular Istrian band Gustafi, Edi Maruzin, said.
