A praiseworthy project in primary school Dubovac

Text

- We want to be well-educated, find a job, have a family and children, travel around the world, meet new people, be healthy and have a long life. That’s why we’ll use our free time to do sports, to practice singing, drawing and dancing, to hang around with our family and friends – this is the message from the students of class 8a from the primary school Dubovac in Karlovac. Their form master Miljenko Ozura designed a workshop for them called “Technical Education against addiction”.

They have made paper planes and they found out that only one piece of paper and some paper clips are enough to show their creativity, to have fun and to design flying objects similar to the ones used in world competitions.

- I have shown what technical education as a school subject can achieve with its topics. Two or three students can be together and have fun working on such planes or some other more complicated toys. This is the proof that every teacher can make the difference in his or her field to prevent any kind of bad behavior – Ozura said.

The interesting workshops will continue in the second term as well. The school pedagogue Zeljka Jancic adds that they have collected all the teachers’ ideas and they will write a booklet about preventing the risky behavior among students.

- Every year we do the questionnaire among the7th grade students and we monitor everything that can be risky. We take care that our children are hardworking, happy and successful. This is also one of the ways to achieve this – Jancic points out.
