The shooting happened in the car park at about 7.30 pm on Saturday. The man was killed in front of the house number 164 in Savskastreet in Zagreb.
The body was found in the white car Renault Clio registered in Split. It was parked near the Institute of Energetics (half way between the railway line and Prisavlje crossroads).
The unknown man who committed this crime walked from the scene down Veslackastreet.
The police immediately blocked the whole area and there was a terrible traffic jam. The reporters found out that the car was owned by the victim.
There were no comments from the police and they didn’t want to reveal the identity of the dead person. But there was a possibility that this murder had been connected with crime scene, to be more precise, with drug dealing.
The question is if this murder was connected with the end of police investigation regarding drug dealing in Zagreb area. The results of the investigation were presented on Saturday.
After several months of crime investigation which included the County State Attorney office in Zagreb, the police national office for prevention of corruption and organized crime and the Headquarters of MUP Republic of Srpska, four Croatian citizens have been arrested. They are between 31 and 46 years old. They are under suspicion of dealing larger quantities of heroin and cocaine in Zagreb area. One of the suspects is also under suspicion of buying and selling larger quantities of arms and weapons.
During the crime investigation, drugs have been found and confiscated: total amount of 900 gr of heroin, 110 gr of cocaine. There were also some weapons taken from the suspects: an automatic gun Skorpion, 2 pistols, 3 hand grenades and less than 400 pieces of ammunition of different caliber. I was determined in the investigation that the 42-year-old and 46-year-old suspects have purchased larger quantities of heroin and cocaine for further sale since December 2011. They got the heroin from the area of Banja Luka and the source of cocaine was a 31-year-old suspect from VelikaGorica. After buying drugs they were selling them further to the drug consumers from Zagreb area. One of the drug consumers was also a 33-year-old who kept selling it further – the police informed on Saturday.
Apart from drug abuse, a 46-year-old was also under suspicion of illegal sale of weapons which had also been purchased on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The criminal charges have been brought against the suspects for drug abuse. A 46-year-old is also accused of illegal possession of weapons and explosives. They were all taken to custody. At the same time the officers of the crime police MUP in the Republic of Srpska arrested five people under suspicion of delivering heroin and weapons for a 42-year-old and a 46-year-old.
One person among the arrested people has already been recorded for drug abuse. The total value of the confiscated drugs and weapons is about 250 thousand HRK.
