Airplane landed in the sea near Zadar

Firefighting airplane flew over Zadar city center before it finally landed in the sea. The ship was sent to pick up the pilot.

Due to engine failure a firefighter plane was forced to land near the Zadar dock. The pilot requested permission to do this and he landed in the sea only after the police granted it, writes Vecernji List.

The event was confirmed by the Zadar police who added that they did not know the length of time that the airplane spent in the air.

The plane flew over Zadar’s city center before it finally landed in the sea. The pilot was picked up by the police boat.

According to unofficial information, the plane was in the air for about an hour. It did not land at the Zadar Airport because of failure with the landing gear.

Port authorities and marine police vessels began dragging the plane towards the Vitrenjak port at around 1:30 PM.
