LITTLE CARE GOES A LONG WAY

Let us be economically smart, socially responsive, but very developmentally focused in the coming year.
Crowds in town, swarming shopping centres, consumer fever, humanitarian actions, these are all signs that Christmas has arrived. True, it is somewhat warm, without snow that usually creates a real Christmassy feeling.
Are we all a little bit more relaxed? Well, we are! Do we pay more attention to other people? Yes! Do we rejoice at greeting cards we receive and the presents we are given? Of course! Do we give presents? Oh, yes, and we look very much forward to that!
Sensitivity and care during the Christmas season are greater than usual when we are focused on ourselves, our lives and our problems.
We are not even aware how many people in this country will not spend Christmas as pleasantly as us. Just turn about and you will see a person freezing in the street begging for a piece of bread. Or, go to a shopping centre and you will spot some people with nothing in their shopping carts, just browsing the shelves and putting nothing in the carts. They are just watching other people buy. Or, when you are at the marketplace, standing in line for meat. You are focused on a nice steak. Divert your eyes from the steak and look around and you will surely see an elderly woman or a woman with a small child watching you shop with desire in her eyes, because she cannot. My advice is: do not become despondent! Buy the steak for yourself, but buy a steak for her also, bring it to her and say “this is from me for Christmas”. She will be surprised. That will be her true Christmas present.
Another advice: you have many leftovers after an abundant dinner. What will you do with it? Take it to orphanages. You will not believe how many orphanages there are in the city.
A little attention and small thinks make life better and pleasant.
Do not just give away food, give away presents that will be remembered. Let us be economically clever, socially sensitive, but also very developmentally-focused in the coming year. In other words, all of you who have the means, employ those who are waiting for a job, bring them cheer, give them hope that the next year will be better than this one.
All of you who have any kind of power in this country should utilise it for the betterment of us all.
Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!!!
