American Falls Off Bicycle In Hvar, Dies

After falling off his bike, the 50-year-old American was transported to Split Hospital, however, his injuries were too grave.

HVAR, CROATIA - American citizen M.S. (50), who fell off his bike in the island of Hvar, passed away in Split`s Hospital an hour and half after his accident, Split police report.

He arrived in Croatia with wife and several other countrymen, and stayed at the Postine Hotel in Hvar. The group decided to go riding on Sunday morning. The unfortunate man separated himself from the rest of the group at 15 hours on the local road Svirce-Vrisnik. At one point, he fell of his bicycle and sustained life-threatening injuries, due to which he was transported to Split`s Hospital via helicopter. He was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit.

Despite efforts of Split doctors, the American died an hour and half following his accident.

The police said they would discuss the details of the accident with friends who were in M.S.`s group.
