Arlovic: There is no favourite for Racan's post

Text

Arlovic, Parliament's Deputy Speaker and SDP MP announced that Racan's illnes will not disrupt their victory plan for the elections

As he gave a guest performance in Plavi Radio Vis a Vis programme, Arlovic stressed that Ivica Racan remains as SDP’s President and that there are no favourite’s within the party for that post.

- I hope that Racan will be on the mend and that he will soon resume the post of the party president – SDP MP said and added that Ivica Racan is not a leader but a person who through politics created an impressive work.

Befor his illness there have been many opinin polls according to which people thought that it was time for Racan to leave politics, but now all stood by his side – Arlovic thinks and says that it is because people recognized his role in society’s democracy.

People stopped and began to think not only about Racan’s illness, but also about SDP which became, as a programme, an important part of the democracy – Deputy Speaker of the Parliament said.

'I condemn all Bandic’s excesses'

He referred to  a negative public image, which his party colleague, Milan Bandic has had

recently.

'I condemn Bandic’s behaviour over the incident of swearing  and threatening journalists- Arlovic said, and added that Zagreb Mayor wants to take part in implementation of each issue and that it is the reason why the “links are breaking off'.

SDP’s MP commented Slavko Linic’s statement that HDZ protects the mob.

'You cannot accuse the entire party just like that, you have to come up with a name and surname, and I think that Linic’s statement has been blown out of proportion by the media' – Arlovic said, with a message that should Linic have any evidence to prove his allegations, he should file a criminal report.

'Cacic cannot become the Prime Minister'

Arlovic appealed to HNS because of their behaviour in reference to Racan’s illness – they hope to weaken SDP and get more votes for their party.

- I feel sorry for my colleagues who try to build their victory on another man’s illness,  SDP politician said, and commented that Cacic cannot become a prime minister through a campaign, because it is a matter of party’s victory.

We will win at the elections, but we will nor rule on our own, but rather in a coalition with one of congenial parties – Mato Arlovic concluded, adding that it is always better to have more than one opinion on the same matter.
