AVA Sues Miroslav Rozic

Audio-visual attractions d.o.o. (AVA), owned by Roman Majetic and Tonci Huljic, filed a law-suit against the Croatian Party of the Right (HSP) parliamentary representative Miroslav Rozic. They claim he committed even four felonies.

Namely, he is being sued for the violation of equality in performing economic activities, publishing and unauthorised obtaining of a business secret, false report of a felony and misuse of position and authorisation.

Rozic`s motives

AVA co-owner Roman Majetic claims there were more lenient felonies, as libel and insult, that they could have reported, but they limited themselves only to these more severe actions.

-What I am interested in is what were Mr. Rozic`s motives. Does he believe he is protected by the Parliamentary immunity from any responsibility. If this is the case, then this is a country where it is possible to throw mud without any responsibility- says Majetic, adding Rozic said a whole line of false information.

Contract is accurate

Still, Majetic admits the contract between the Croatian Radio-Television (HRT) and his company for the soap “Villa Maria”, which we published, was accurate, as were the figures web-site Javno stated.

Majetic also confirmed the calculation according to which HRT paid 28,800,000 kuna for “Villa Maria”. With it, says Majetic, for ratings bonuses additional 2,080,000 kuna was paid. Similar contracts were signed for two other soaps AVA sold to HRT. But, Majetic does not see anything disputable.

-We can prove that we sold each of our series according to market conditions. What is more, the HRT offer was 10% lesser than the offers of commercial televisions, but we chose HRT because of other advantages broadcasting on this television brings- he concluded.

“AVA is not external production”

To complaints they did not participate in a public tender, as proscribed by the Law on HRT, Majetic replies that these provisions do not apply to them.

-AVA is not an external production. We produce products and offer them in the market- added Majetic and ended: “We produced the entire Villa Maria without making a deal with anyone… There was a possibility of RTL buying this series”.
