Babies born in the first hour of 2009 will receive 7,000 kuna, unlike previous years when only one baby had that privilege.
ZAGREB, CROATIA - The Croatian Ministry of the Family, Veterans' Affairs and Intergenerational Solidarity will give all babies born in the first hour of 2009, 7,000 kuna, writes Vecernji List.
According to the average from many years, the gift will be received by five or six babies, and the decision for paying the gift has already been signed by the minister Jadranka Kosor.
The minister decided upon this move after last year’s decision was awaited awkwardly, when every maternity ward in Croatia considered that their baby was first. This year all of the “first” babies will receive 7,000 kuna.
