Bandic As Dragon

Bandic had to prove for six months he had feeling for social wellbeing and charity work at the internship with the Fellowship.

The Master`s assembly of the Brothers of the Croatian Dragon will decide on Tuesday on the acceptance of Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic under their wing.

Two of the Dragon Brothers proposed Bandic as a candidate to the Fellowship last year. The Master`s assembly accepted the candidacy, while Bandic obliged, apart from the internship, to engross the renovation of the Stone door which is located above the Fellowship’s knight hall, the Vecernji list reports.

If Bandic becomes a Dragon, he will chose a new name for himself, which is usually taken according to a dear locality or a place of birth. Although he claimed he did not think about his new name, the Grand Master Dragutin Feletar said the mayor had a few suggestions already, among which are Zmaj sljemenski (Dragon of mount Sljeme), but this wish has not been fulfilled because one of the Dragons already has this name.

All in all, if after six months of drudgery Bandic becomes a member of the Fellowship, new members` admittance will be held on February 17, and it will be known then which place is dearest to his heart.

Passingly, the Brothers of the Croatian Dragon is a non-governmental, apolitical association which acts in the field of preservation of the Croatian cultural and historic heritage and nurtures Croatian traditions.
