The Mayor Milan Bandic met the representatives of the Council of Europe. The guest list included the president of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities Keith Withmore.
The guest praised Zagreb for its clean and tidy impression on the visitors, saying that the last decade was the period of improvement. He also noted the positive attitude towards national minorities and human rights in general. Zagreb could become a positive example for big European centers, according to his opinion.
The Mayor Bandic thanked Withmore and pointed out that the protection of minority rights is one of the priorities of Zagreb City administration. He mentioned two projects in which the City of Zagreb took part. One is the kindergarten in Zagreb Mosque and the other one is The Serbian Katarina Brankovic high school.
The executive secretary of the Congress Andreas Kiefer, the ambassador Anica Damic, the president of the Croatian delegation Dubravka Suica and the councilor of the Ministry of Justice Nina Miskovic were also present at the meeting.
