Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic forwarded a letter to the Zagreb-Ljubljana and Italy mitropolit Jovan Pavlovic, in which he complains about the behaviour of Zagreb rector Milenko Popovic.
Namely, Bandic is disturbed by protests against the devastation of buildings on Petar Preradovic square (Cvjetni square) and the Zagreb cinema, which Popovic took part in.
Bandic even, allegedly, requested mitropolit Jovan to dismiss the rector, the Jutarnji list daily reports.
Mitropolit Jovan told Jutarnji list that he supported Milenko Popovic and the protest against construction on Cvjetni square, because it is of Croatia`s interest.
Although the City promised the Serbian Orthodox Church it will renounce the right of pre-emption, at the end of March a contract was laid down on the sale of the Zagreb cinema between Kinematografi and Tomislav Horvatincic.
