The head of the scouts’ alliance handed Bebic a lantern with the Bethlehem light, now it is burning in the lobby of the Croatian parliament.
ZAGREB, CROATIA - The delegation of the scouts’ federation of Croatia, brought a lantern with the “Bethlehem light” from Vienna to the Zagreb cathedral. Today they brought it from the cathedral to the Croatian parliament, where they handed it to the president of the Croatian parliament, Luka Bebic, who was the sponsor of the event.
The head of the scouts’ federation Edo Peric, handed Bebic the lantern, which is now burning in the lobby in front of the entrance into the main hall.
Thanking the scouts for bringing the “Bethlehem light” to the highest representative body in Croatia, Bebic stressed that the light has been distributed around the world from the holy land for years.
When the star appeared in Bethlehem that announced Jesus’ birth, that light brought all of those who wanted to bow to Jesus’ birth, said Babic. So, he added, the light is the winner over darkness, and that is how it should be in people’s hearts. Light is a constant symbol for peace and good in the world, he said, and praised the scouts for the project, and initiative of bringing the “Bethlehem light” to parliament to bring peace and good to the parliamentarians.
The scouts brought the light to the Zagreb Cathedral yesterday morning, after having received it in the cathedral in Vienna, and brought it to Croatia in their lanterns.
The scouts’ federation has been organizing the spreading of the light of peace and love around Croatia for 15 years.
