Brela: Five attackers beat-up a German family

The Schmidt family from Germany was spending a pleasant holiday in Croatia until they got attacked with bats.

Schmidt Family enjoyed their Wednesday by walking on the promenade area and visiting a local Breal beach. Then the BMW vehicle, owned by Mladen Sosic, passed by them and turned their holiday into a nightmare.

Sosic was driving on the promenade when Renate Schmidt told him something that probably involved criticizing his driving abilities in the vehicle-free zone. A hard exchange of insults ensued, after which, both parties departed. However, this was not the end of their conflict.

Sosic persuades his son and another three men to attack tourists

A little while later, brave Sosic returned to the beach accompanied by his nineteen year old son and another three men who used bats to attack the 52-year old Renata, her 57-year old husband Lothar and their sons, Timo and Michael.

More serious tragedy was avoided only by a sheer luck and tourist received only minor injuries. Sosic and his son were interviewed at the police station in Makarska and criminal investigation is currently in progress.
