Text
Several days ago a body was found off Dubrovnik. It is suspected to be the body of missing Australian girl Britt Lapthorne.
However, autopsy results have still not been finalised, because the body was in poor condition and it was impossible to identify it straight away. Britt`s mother Elke Lapthorne said she hopes the remains do not belong to her daughter, Australian media report:
- I have a gut feeling it won`t be Britt – Elke Lapthorne said.
The mother has provided DNA samples, which will be compared with the body`s DNA. Information has leaked in the media on Thursday that he body belonged to a younger female with blonde hair, but the police deny such claims.
Britt`s brother Darren and father Dale are in Dubrovnik to take part in the search. They have expressed hope that the missing 21—year-old girl was still alive.
