`Croatia is on the way to joining the European Union, will soon join NATO, and is standing shoulder to shoulder with Canadian armed forces`.
After Great Britain allowed Croatian citizens to enter its territory without visas, followed by the US announcement of the same thing, the next country in line should be Canada. Canadian politician Borys Wrzesnewskyj invited his government to remove visas for Croats, Croatian times writes.
Borys Wrzesnewskyj, a liberal, submitted the petition to the House of Commons, requesting that Croats are allowed to visit Canada without long-term procedures.
Over 100 persons signed the petition, mostly Croats or their descendants, from all corners of Canada.
- The days of the Iron Curtain have ended. Croatia is on the way to joining the European Union, will soon join NATO, and is standing shoulder to shoulder with Canadian armed forces in Afghanistan and with our partners in other NATO-led missions. It is time for Canada to follow the example of Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom and lift visa restrictions on Croats. Borys Wrzesnewskyj said.
