APRIL 4 2012 23:48h
Two domestic future space electro jazz bands called Chui and Capisconne Electro Unity are performing on Tuesday 12th April in SC. Their concert is a part of Live electronic act and it starts at 9.30 pm. The bands will present themselves individually but there will also be a common session which will certainly offer some interesting music solutions for those who know their work, experience and long performing careers.
The last time Capisconne Electro Unity performed was in December 2011 when they gave a concert as a part of the 8th Culture Fair. It is the space jazz band from Zagreb which was, according to its members, founded because of their wish to mix the complexity of jazz improvisation, the appeal of the club electronic music and the good vibes of the ambient music. This mixture of genres, sub genres and music styles produces a specific sound of Capisconne Electro Unity. Their first album was released in 2009 and it was called Activity. The German music promoter Rowolo.de put it on the list of top five Creative Commons albums of 2009. They continued to create music so in 2010 their digital album Razor was presented to the public. In 2011 they released their compilation called EP 1. Last year they worked together with the ethno band from Romania called Anton Pann Band and they co-produced the common CD called Emergency Landscapes. Three of their compositions have found their place also in the compilation The Next Mission by London net label Dubmission, published in 2011.
The members of the band are Ivan Kapec playing the guitar and samples (Ivan Kapec Trio, TrianguliZona, Mirokado Orchestra), HrvojePetekon the bass guitar (Initi Rami), HrvojeGaller playing the piano (JasnaBilusic Band, Soul Fingers) and MihaVlah playing the drums (TomislavGoluban band, DudoVorih blues band).
Chui is the music project from Zagreb whose mission is to get closer to its listeners and try to hypnotize with their sound. The aim is also to rescue them from their everyday stress. The members of the band only want from their listeners to listen to them, as the very name suggests (chui – in Croatian means listen to me). There are three members of the band who play in different bands like Mangroove, Bambi Molesters, Less Than a Minute, DZ81, Sinesteta, Groovy Cakes and others. The musicians are: Toni Staresinic – keyboard and effects, DjuroDobranic – the drums and percussions and Andrej Jakus – the trumpet and effects. They play the mixture of different genres and they like the sounds of rock, jazz, ambient, electronic, minimal, drum’n’base, hip hop, funk, space and spiritual. They frequently perform together and they announce their first album in the first half of 2012.
The ticket price is 30 HRK.
