Cocaine Found At Pukanic Apartment?

A suspicious substance, presumably cocaine, was found in the apartment of Ivo and Mirjana Pukanic, USKOK director Dinko Cvitan confirmed.

ZAGREB, CROATIA – Following a warrant by the Office for the Prevention of Corruption and Organised Crime (USKOK), police have searched the apartment and garage of Ivo and Mirjana Pukanic and found a substance, presumably cocaine, confirmed USKOK director Dinko Cvitan for the Croatian Television, pointing out the substance was sent for toxicological examination.

Allegedly, the housekeeper found the “strange substance”, who then notified the police.

The apartment search was supposedly continued this morning and according to Media servis news agency information, 15 grams of an unknown substance was found in the apartment, belonging to Ivo Pukanic and his daughter Sara.

- My client`s statements on cocaine in the Pukanic family are confirmed – said Mirjana Pukanic`s attorney Nebojsa Bestic, adding that reporters probably have more information on the search than he does.

- When I read about the search, I expressed doubt that it happened without the knowledge of my client Ivo Pukanic and myself, however, I do not dismiss the possibility – attorney Veljko Miljevic was brief.

He could not confirm nor deny the information.

Pukanic interviewed?

According to claims, Ivo Pukanic was today seen leaving Zagreb`s Heinzlova Street Police Station, where he attended an interview concerning the search of his apartment, it is presumed.

Attorney Miljevic told us he does not believe Pukanic was interviewed, but that he was at the station for a brief, casual conversation.

Zagreb Police Department spokesperson was not available for comment.

Mirjana Pukanic filed criminal charges several days ago with the Zagreb Municipality State Attorney`s Office against her husband Ivo Pukanic, accusing him of rape, abuse and becoming addicted to drugs. It is presumed the police searched their apartment as part of a criminal investigation against him.
