Conference Of Civilian Associations Without Kosor

Minister was prevented by other affairs, other civilian associations representatives to show project results to the public.

-Croatian authority institutions must give support to non-governmental associations in order to achieve better life quality for all citizens of the Republic of Croatia- said the head of European Commission Delegation Vincent Degert at today`s conference where civilian association representatives presented results of their projects.

Battle against discrimination

He looked back on the Social Partnership Memorandum which should be signed by the European Commission representative for this area in March.

-For establishing partnership we need people who will be active because the society needs changing and improvement in order to fight against all forms of discrimination- said Degert, stressing how with the strengthening of the labour market and the creation of new employments, new European values would wake up in Croatia.

Although the appearance of Minister Jadranka Kosor was announced, she did not show up due to unavoidable reasons.

Irreplaceable civilian sector

-The civilian sector is irreplaceable and the government finds it important that it is applied in all sectors because Croatia is not only Zagreb and its surroundings- pointed out State Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Social Services Dorica Nikolic, adding how the Systematic Accession Memorandum is a process of learning in order for the associations to become a support in the local and state government, and at the same time learn how to use the advantages.

But, at the conference were also present key participants of associations which resented to the pubic results of projects co-financed as a pert of the CARDS 2002 programme.

Association for women`s rights B.a.b.e. belong here, Civilian Society Development Association SMART, Peace group Oaza, Croatian Guide dog and mobility Association and many others who presented their work with a short film screening.
