This year's conference brought together more than 400 guests from 60 countries who will hold a number of lectures and workshops.
Fifth Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment, opened in Dubrovnik on Wednesday.
It is one of the largest conferences of its kind in this part of Europe and it is attended by the top experts, researchers and managers from the field.
This year's conference brought together more than 400 guests from 60 different countries who will hold many lectures, workshops and special assignment on renewable energy, sustainable development, energy efficiency and environmental issues, Tomislav Puksec from The Zagreb University said.
Participants were welcomed by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Construction, Nikola Ruzinski. In his welcome speech, he said that the 5th Conference was dedicated to improving and expanding the knowledge of the methods, policies and technologies that help increase the sustainability of development; while taking into account economic, environmental and social prerogatives important for Croatia’s future with the European Union.
