The debt of 73,358 business entities with blocked accounts totalled HRK 43.85 billion at the end of July, while 231,492 citizens had their accounts blocked over a debt totalling HRK 15.34 billion, the Financial Agency said on Friday.
The number of citizens with blocked accounts went up 1.6 per cent from June and their total debt by HRK 510 million.
Corporate debt dropped HRK 101.8 million or 0.2% on the month.
Year on year, the number of business entities with blocked accounts went up 0.8% (627 more), while their total debt increased 10% or about HRK 4 billion.
This past July, more than a quarter of the business entities in question had their accounts blocked more than 360 days, accounting for 82.2% of the total debt, or 56,776 business entities owing more than HRK 36 billion in total. Also, 36.4% of business entities had their accounts blocked for five or more years.
A total of 22,905 legal entities had no employees and owed HRK 17.4 billion in total.
Also, 15,948 small business owners with no employees owed HRK 3.8 billion in total.
