Vukovar County Court investigative Judge Nikola Besenski wants an international arrest warrant on General Veljko Kadijevic to be issued

Vukovar-Srijemska police received an order from Vukovar County Court investigative Judge Nikola Besenski to issue an international arrest warrant for former YNA (Yugoslav People's Army).

Tomislav Iljic from Vukovar-Srijemska police said that police immediately sent an order with the follow up documentation to the Ministry of Police which should issue the international arrest warrant as soon as possible.

Vukovar County Court investigative Judge Nikola Besenski sent today to Vukovar-Srijemska police an order for issuing an international arrest warrant on the general of the former Yugoslav National Army Veljko Kadijevic.

In March 2004 Vukovar county court received an indictment against Kadijevic and nine other indictees, Besenski said for Hina, and added that as early as 2000, Osijek County Court issued a national arrest warrant.

'As the arrest warrant did not give any results, and in the last couple of days the press wrote about Veljko Kadijevic's whereabouts, I decided to write an international warrant', Judge Besenski explained the reason why he issued the warrant.

He also mentioned that the indictment (termed) 'Kadijevic and the others' raised in 2004, originally had names of ten indictees, but after one of the indicted, Zivota Panic died, the names were reduced to nine indictees.

Vojislav Seselj and members of the Vukovar Three, Veselin Šljivančanin, Mile Mrkšić and Miroslav Radić are in the Hague, Goran Hadzic, on whom the national and international arrest warrant was issued is a fugitive, while on Božidar Stevanović, Zvonkom Jurjevići Blagoje Adžić the national and international warrant has not yet been issued for lack of evidence.
