Croatia’s fans have once again crammed Josip Jelacic Square, this time to celebrate the win of Croatia over Poland.
People wearing chequered clothing crammed Zagreb’s Josip Jelacic Square, but in slightly smaller number than Croatia’s previous two wins. Also, the fans were more relaxed this time, knowing that Croatia would play in the quarter-finals regardless of the results.
- It is all the same if we win or lose, we are going ahead anyway – this is a match for fun, said Marin.
- I expect to win, but it is not important to win, but if they do, I am going to Austria for their match against Turkey – said Anto who was covered in chequered clothing.
The fans came to have a good time and relax, and there was no tension, because it was no important if they won or lost.
When Klasnic scored the goal, the fans were delighted, they lit torches, various rockets, and there were firecrackers as well.
After the match ended, the delighted fans remained at the square, and the Croatian singer Oliver Dragojevic, who was also in chequered clothing, entertained them with his well known hits. The win gave them all the more reason to stay and celebrate late into the night.
