Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on Monday received the Chief of the Serbian Army General Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic, who was on a visit to Croatia's Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces, the President's Office said in a statement.
The talks focused on bilateral security and defence cooperation, which was described as good. Josipovic said that Croatia would extend its support to countries in the region, including Serbia, in their Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
Also discussed were possibilities of expanding the existing cooperation, notably in exchanging experience from international peace missions, EU combat groups, and international military education and training.
Josipovic congratulated Serbia on receiving EU membership candidate status. He said that EU accession negotiations were demanding, but that they resulted in valuable achievements and high democratic standards. (Hina)
