Among the 12 presidential candidates in the first round of elections, Josipovic and Bandic won the majority of votes.
Among the 12 presidential candidates in the first round of election, Josipovic and Bandic won the majority of votes. They now compete against each other in the final round.
At 7:00 am this morning around seven thousand election posts opened and gave the opportunity to around 4,5 million Croats to choose their next president. The president will serve a 5-year term and this year’s top candidates are independent candidate Milan Bandic and SDP’s Ivo Josipovic.
Voting posts are open until 7 pm.
Among the 12 presidential candidates from the first round of election, Josipovic and Bandic won the majority of votes. However they need to collect more than 50 percent in the second circle.
There are 6550 election posts open in Croatia, 250 abroad and 124 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 63 additional posts (in prisons, ships, etc) were opened as well and they include special military missions to Golan, Kosovo and Afghanistan.
