The department for socio-cultural projects Tresnjevka organizes a project called UPSET Theater. It is an interdisciplinary action research which aims to study the level of prejudice and discrimination and to offer some solutions to the subjects of this social problem. They will do it by combination of scientific research and workshops. The project has been organized for everyone who is interested in the problem, no matter if they are discriminated or not.
The final product will be a theater play performed by discriminated people and other participants. The performance will be led by professionals in the field and it will be shown to the public in the TNT Theater. It will be a kind of celebration of the idea of inclusion, acceptance, mutual respect and co-existence.
The scientific approach is based on sociological and anthropological work of Peter Ludwig Berger, Thomas Luckmann, Erving Goffman and Victor Turner. The workshops will provide acting and drama experience according to the approaches of AugustoBoal, MarcoLuly, Michael Chekhov and others.
