WE REGRET THE INCIDENT

After Czech media invited their citizens not to travel to Croatia, Croatian FA Ministry voiced regret over the incident.
After the incident in Dubrovnik at the start of August, when director Jiri Menzel was attacked, which negatively resounded in the Czech media, Croatian Foreign Affairs Ministry has issued out a press release, voicing true regret, pointing out that the incident, fortunately, ended without serious consequences.
- We would like to point out that all foreign citizens, even the Czech ones, are welcome in Croatia and accordingly, all necessary measures are being taken for their stay in Croatia to be as safe as possible – Croatian Foreign Affairs Ministry claims. The director did not report the incident to the police, which nevertheless, interviewed the attacker, an owner of a catering object, as well as Menzel`s cameramen, the press release reads.
Due to the incident, the Czech media called to their citizens not to travel to Croatia. The ministry pointed out that this was not an official recommendation of Czech national bodies and still express conviction in friendly relations between Croatia and the Czech Republic.
Czech director Jiri Menzel was attacked on August 4 during the shoot of two documentaries on Dalmatia and the Adriatic Sea.
