The autopsy was done with communication with Croatian authorities, including with the original pathologist who did the autopsy in Croatia.
Dale Lapthorne, the father of Australian backpacker Britt Lapthorne, who was found dead on October 8 in Croatia’s Dubrovnik, on Friday met with Judge Jennifer Coate, the State Coroner, to discuss a draft autopsy report.
Since Judge Coate has issued a suppression order on the draft post-mortem, Dale Lapthorne could not reveal anything from what he was shown or discussed with the coroner. But he did say that he was very happy with its quality and scientific evidence.
- The report is very professional and has very much detail – Mr. Lapthorne told Javno.
- The autopsy was done with the communication with Croatian authorities, including with the original pathologist who did the first autopsy in Croatia – he added said.
The autopsy should be finalised in a couple of days, after which the State Coroner will sign off on a press release, he said.
- I will then send the finalised version of the autopsy to the Croatian authorities – he said.
He again confirmed he will be coming to Croatia to plead for anybody who might know something about how Britt died to come forward, but did not wish to say when he would be arriving to Dubrovnik.
- We will not have a Christmas this year. There is no Christmas without her for us – Dale said in the end.
