Deputy Croatian PM Djurdja Adlesic met with NATO head secretary Jaap de Hoop Scheffer on Monday in Brussels, to discuss the ratification of Croatian NATO accession and the country`s future tasks.
- We believe that the ratification of the accession protocol will be finalised by the end of March, as planned. We truly have to thank head secretary Scheffer for his personal effort, because he has been following this process, together with our prime minister, and it seems he helps when it is necessary, therefore, I believe everything will be done in time and we will become a NATO member in April – Djurdja Adlesic said, after meeting Scheffer.
Role of Croatian soldiers in Afghanistan
Adlesic said they also discussed military and civilian NATO missions, especially the role of Croatian soldiers in NATO`s Afghanistan missing, who were praised for their work. Furthermore, they also discussed passing new strategic documents in Croatia: crisis management strategy and the national security strategy.
