Dodik was supposed to visit Mesic today, but due to non-suspensive obligations, the meeting was cancelled.
The Bosnian Serb entity of Republika Srpska Premier Milorad Dodik had a scheduled meeting with the Croatian President, Stjepan Mesic. However, Dodik announced to his public relations office that the meeting with the Croatian president was cancelled due to “newly-developed non-suspensive obligations of Premier Dodik”.
President Mesic and Premier Dodik were supposed to talk, among other things, about Janaf, former Yugoslav oil pipeline, constructed by Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia before the war.
After RS sold the Bosanski Brod refinery to Russian Zarubeznjeft company, it is possible that 33 percent of ownership share in Janaf was sold as well.
BH Prime Minister Nikola Spiric denies this, while Dodik says that the contract with this Russian company precised that RS, if it realises certain right to Janaf, according to the system of priority right, will give the Russians the opportunity to purchase this part of the oil pipeline, Federal television reports.
Position of Croatian authorities is that Janaf is Croatian, while BH authorities believe they too have a share in the ownership. Thus, this topic will surely be on the agenda when Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader visits Sarajevo at the end of month.
