Text
The meeting during which the Slovenian president`s book was to be promoted also had the goal of simmering down passions.
The announced meeting of Croatian and Slovene presidents Stjepan Mesic and Janez Drnovsek is postponed. The presidents were supposed to meet on February 15 in Bjelovar, the Vecernji list writes.
Namely, Slovenian President Janez Drnovsek was supposed to present his latest book to the Croatian public but the Slovenian media believe this meeting was supposed to relieve the rising tensions between Ljubljana and Zagreb.
Because of his frequent encounters with the Croatian president during the past year, Janez Drnovsek was quite criticised in Slovenia. Both presidents' goals are for the two governments to find common ground as soon as possible and solve open issues.
