DUBROVNIK, CROATIA – The parents of Australian backpacker Britt Lapthorne, who was found dead in Dubrovnik on October 8, Dale and Elke, on Monday met with Dubrovnik police commissioner Zlatko Sokolar.
- Commissioner Sokolar received the parents of Britt Lapthorne at their request. During that time, Dale and Elke Lapthorne were acquainted with the process of the investigation – Dubrovnik police spokeswoman Marija Gjenero told Javno.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Australian Embassy in Croatia and of the Australian Federal Police.
- The parents were given assurances that Dubrovnik police, in cooperation with Interpol, are continuing their investigation into Britt’s death – Gjenero told us.
Dale and Elke Lapthorne intend to go to all the places where Britt spent her days in Dubrovnik. Britt’s mother told Australian media that while she was at the Fuego club, where Britt was last seen, she could feel her daughter having fun there, laughing and dancing.
