Joca Amsterdam was granted the status of witness in the Pukanic case because four other suspects are to be investigated.
Sreten Jocic, who is suspected of organizing the murder of Ivo Pukanic, could be in the courtroom this Monday - but as a witness of the Croatian judiciary. The reason for this is the new investigation against four other suspects.
The investigating judge of the County Court in Zagreb has forwarded the request for Jocic’s trial participation to his colleagues in Serbia.
Joca Amsterdam will lose his property
Serbian newspaper Novosti reports that the investigative procedure against Luka and Robert Matanic, Amir Mafalani and Slobodan Djurovic, has began.
Joce Amsterdam's testimony should take place in the premises of the Belgrade District Prison and his hearing will happen in the presence of suspect’s defenders, Zagreb judge and prosecutors.
The investigation should be done by October
Besides Jocic, another witness expected to be seen on Monday, is Zeljko Milovanovic.
Sreten Jocic’s lawyer, Veljko Delibašić, said he looks forward to assuring Croatian judicial authorities that his client has nothing to do with the murder that shook Croatia.
Jocic was arrested in April, six months after Ivo Pukanic along with Nika Franić, was killed in the courtyard of Nacional’s editorial building. Investigation of this case is expected to be done by October.
