Vidovic claims that the HDZ, who are in power in Sisak, have no idea on how to solve the economic, moral and social crisis in the city.
On a second occasion, after November this year, when Batman’s help was sought, Sisak’s residents complained that they want a change in the city ruling structure. This time they wrote about a “seasonal superhero”, Santa Claus, asking him to bring them a Christmas present of “a government that will build kindergartens, libraries and bridges, and not corruption, affairs and corruption”.
After Batman, Sisak’s residents call Santa Claus
“Sisak is an interesting city because the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Party) is in power in various combinations, but has never won a majority in the elections. It has become normal that HDZ is in power, even though the citizens do not vote for them” said Davorko Vidovic, the former mayor of Sisak, in a telephone conversation.
Sisak is under HDZ, who according to Vidovic, experienced an economic, moral and social cataclysm.
If it was not like that, the citizens might be able to bear it.
HDZ does not have visions, and does not know
“This is how frustration is created. Regardless of who you vote for, HDZ is in power” claims Vidovic.
As he said, there are an equal number of pensioners and workers in Sisak today. 20 years ago there were 30 thousand workers, today there is only 13 thousand. HDZ’s interests are that the city progresses, but they do not know how to fix the situation. They, says Vidovic “do not have a vision, they do not know”.
The former mayor continued about the precise problems that trouble Sisak’s residents.
“They are unhappy with 20 years of this humiliation and making fun of their will, they are unhappy with being unable to work in the city, the fulfilment of cultural needs in the city, schooling in the city, links with Zagreb, the level of tolerance, responsibility of politicians towards the citizens, and the fact that Sisak has come to be known as a dirty city that has problems with pollution” concluded Vidovic.
