Police chief Faber and the director of Serbia’s interior ministry Veljovic, held a cooperative meeting for the murder of Ivo Pukanic.
Croatia’s chief of police, Vladimir Faber, and the director of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs Milorad Veljovic, held a meeting on Thursday in the Brod-Posavina county. Faber and Veljovic, as well as their associates did not want to talk about the details of the talks, nor about the time and place where the talks were held.
The head of the police directorate’s office Krunoslav Borovec also confirmed that the meeting was held, not wanting to give the public any details. He added that the Croatian police are cooperating with their colleagues from Serbia and Bosnia Herzegovina in relation to the murders of Ivo Pukanic and Niko Franjic.
Milorad Veljovic said for the agency “Beta” that he held a work meeting with Faber during the afternoon concerning cooperation in enlightening the murder of Ivo Pukanic.
Veljovic confirmed that amongst the other suspects, two Serbian citizens were arrested in Croatia: Svetozar Djurovic (54) who was born in Bar and lives in Belgrade, and Milenko Kuzmanovic (25) from Belgrade.
The directors of Serbia’s police said that the cooperation between Serbia’s and Croatia’s police in solving the murder is daily, and that all information that is important to the case is exchanged.
So far ten people have been arrested in relation to the murder of Ivo Pukanic and Niko Franjic, of which eight are Croatian citizens and two are Serbian citizens.
Four people have been arrested on Wednesday afternoon in the Vukovar-Srijem county, and the others were arrested in Zagreb. The arrest operation was carried out by the special police, because resistance was expected due to the fact that dangerous criminals are in question, who are already in the police evidence for crimes.
