Croatian fans bid farewell to the king of pop at Zagreb’s main square on Friday. They left a rose and lit a candle for him.
ZAGREB, CROATIA – The news about the death of Michael Jackson shocked the entire world, including Croatia. Sharing their sorrow with thousands of fans, people left a rose and a message “Michael, Croatia loves you” besides which they lit a candle by his photograph on one of the walls at Zagreb’s main square.
The legendary singer died on Thursday afternoon at a hospital in Los Angeles where he was transferred unconscious after he collapsed in his home. Although doctors tried to reanimate him for more than an hour, he could not be saved. The king of pop forever left this world in which he enjoyed fame not seen since Elvis Presley.

According to sources close to the singer, the last several days Michael was quite anxious and had irrational fears that he could not relieve even with the medication. He told his employees that cancer was killing him because God decided to punish him in that way.
Michael Jackson became a star when he was still a child. He began his career at five years old, as the lead singer of the Jackson Five group, founded in 1964. He sold over 750 million albums and won as many as 13 Grammy awards. After he was charged for molesting children in 2005, he rarely appeared in public and in recent years he was high in debt.
He was to begin his last tour on July 9. “This is it” were the last words Jacko said to his faithful fans and that was to have been the name of his farewell tour.
