Drazen Dorcec, the killer in Djurdjevci Fina, has been sentenced to maximum prison term by the County Court in Koprivnica.
Drazen Dorcec, 33, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for double homicide and robbery by a judge of the County Court in the northern Croatian town of Koprivnica.
He got 35 years for killing security guard Miroslav Bensic and another 35 for killing pensioner Ivan Matisev. The court gave him one more year for holding illegal arms and finally sentenced him to the highest possible sentence in Croatia, 40 years in prison.
At 09:17 hours on October 14, 2006, Dorcec entered the Financial Agency (Fina) office in Djurdjevci, shot the security guard and the pensioner, collected 321,700 kuna and, before running away, shot in the head both victims who were still alive.
The police tracked Dorcec for four days. Once captured, he admitted to the murders and robbery, stating gambling debts as motive.
After the arrest of Drazen Dorcec who was indicted of robbery and double homicide, around 180,000 kuna with Fina markings were found in a stove in his home. The people to whom Dorcec paid money after the robbery contacted Fina and the police. They returned more than 130,000 kuna so far.
