Clearly, the situation in the country is out of control, said Ivo Banac, president of the Croatian Helsinki Committee.
ZAGREB, CROATIA –
- This is a dreadful thing that has happened. This states that crime is probably at its pinnacle so far in Croatia. It is a fact that this is the first murder of a reporter in Croatian after the Homeland War. This states that it is high time for extensive action against crime – said Zdenko Duka, president of the Croatian Journalists` Association.
Deputy Prime Minister Djurdja Adlesic, apart from condemning this crime, had no comment.
President of the Croatian Helsinki Committee Ivo Banac was completely taken aback. In his initial reaction to the crime, he said that these were horrible matters and he had no comment.
- Clearly situation in the country is out of control - said Ivo Banac, adding that he was absolutely taken aback.
