President Mesic will donate the money to a Zagreb abandoned children’s centre
A prank that a former presidential candidate, Boris Miksic, played on the current Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, saying that Mesic had been given a villa by the French intelligence agency, is no longer funny.
The Zagreb Municipal Court on Wednesday passed a ruling whereby Miksic is to pay damages to Mesic for libel in the amount of 60,000 kuna (approx. EUR8,100).
Mesic’s attorney Cedo Prodanovic told Javno that the court decision was to be expected.
-- When the court decision becomes final, Mesic will donate the money to a Zagreb abandoned children’s centre – Prodanovic asserted.
