INDOLENT GOVERNMENT

Why did we as a state let Veritas, Savo Strbac, and the Hague prosecution write the truth about the Homeland War?
It was precisely the Government's indolence that brought on the unnecessary conflict between the defence teams of the generals Gotovina, Cermak, and Markac. The Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) has issued warnings and drawn the Government's attention to the commitment to take a series of legal, political, and diplomatic measures to bring down the monstrous Hague indictments.
Government's clumsy attempts at defence
The indictments are not only directed against the generals, but also against Croatia. All the Government's attempts at bringing down the monstrous indictments in order to calm down the public consist of a single letter and a clumsy and forced attempt to obtain the status of the Tribunal's friend. According to that, a columnist's claims that no one in Croatia could have even imagined such a complicated plot in the Hague, are inaccurate because it was precisely my party and myself who warned that the Government's indolence would lead to a conflict between the defence teams of the indicted generals.
We expressed this viewpoint several times, both in our written initiatives and during Parliament debates, the purpose of which was to commit the Government to take legal, diplomatic, political, and other measures. Does the public know that the archive and registry material created in the Homeland War has not been put in order to this day, for the purpose of promoting the truth about the Homeland War, what all the obstacles are that were put before the indicted generals before they could get the documents they sought, and that the generals were forced to buy the necessary documents for their defence on the black market.
What are we doing to promote the truth about the war?
Does the public know that the requested documents have not been delivered to individual indicted generals to this day, that the documents were given to the Hague in tons without a complete list, and that the declassifying procedure was only done later. Shedding light on the truth and the Government's role in all this is not fishing in the muddy waters of the Hague, collecting political points, and the like, but it is the commitment of all of us, because tomorrow it will be too late.
How many times have I talked about the issue of what Israel did to promote the truth about the wars it led. Why have we as a state allowed the truth about the Homeland War to be written by Veritas, Savo Strbac, and the Hague prosecution. Can't we finally put the material from the Homeland War in order, into collections and separate units. Why does the Croatian Homeland War memorial and documentation centre not finally do its job.
Now it is clear to you why I find the Government to be responsible and indolent in all this. Get moving, gentlemen in the Government.
