Gotovina Seeks Indictment For Malic, Jutarnji List

Text

Ante Gotovina is seeking that the Hague Court punish the journalist Gordan Malic and Jutarnji List for an article published on May 29.

Today, the defence of Croatian general Ante Gotovina sought from the ICTY court committee for the court to file charges against the journalist Gordan Milic and the newspaper Jutarnji List for not respecting the Hague Tribunal.

Due to the lies presented against Gotovina in Jutarnji List on May 29 and 30, general Gotovina is seeking that the Hague Court accuse and punish Malic and Jutarnji List for obstructing justice in the ICTY, reports his lawyer Luka Misetic.

Releasing strict secrets?

Gotovina explains that the Croatian Minister of Justice Ivan Simonovic announced at a press conference on Friday that the secret report handed over to the Hague Tribunal does not have any information that Gotovina took the artillery diaries, which Jutarnji List announced.

Like Minister Simonovic, general Gotovina stresses that the claims that Malic presented in his article which was published in Jutarnji List did not appear in the secret Hague Tribunal report, but despite this Malic insists that such information is in the report. The Hague Tribunal should investigate Malic’s claims, and if Malic is correct, he should be processed for giving up strict secrets. However, if general Gotovina is correct, the Hague Tribunal should punish Malic for obstructing justice, writing and publishing untrue and damaging information” it says in the request to the ICTY.
