New government vice-presidents are Ivan Suker and Darko Milinovic.
President of the Government, Jadranka Kosor announced at today's briefing that she would recommend the former Minister of Health and Welfare, Darko Milinovic, as well as the Finance Minister, Ivan Suker, for the new Deputy Prime Ministers. She will suggest the HUP’s Director-General, Djuro Popijac, for the new minister of the economy.
In this arragement, Ivan Suker would be responsible for the economy matters, and Darko Milinovic for Social Affairs.
It was also announced that the PM’s economy council would be formed and that it would include a former Minister of Finaces, Borislav Skegro, Sandra Svaljek from the Institute of Economics, and the economic expert, Zeljko Lovrincevic.
Nothing was known yesterday
During the yesterday's Government session Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said that she found a successor for Damir Polancec’s post, but she did not want to reveal who this was.
However, informal sources speculated that Darko Milinovic could become the new vice president of the Government, which was confirmed today.
Polancec blames Mesic for everything
In his farewell speech, Polancec said that he was the victim of a media lynching and that he was ready to risk everything to discover who was behind the scandal. He noted that the President Stjepan Mesic was involved with the affair and that he would not use the political immunity while defending himself against the charges.
