According to the Croatian Health Ministry statement, 70 percent of general practitioners are charging co-insurance fees.
ZAGREB, CROATIA – “The reform is in full momentum,” says a statement issued by the Croatian Health Ministry. According to official information from the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance (HZZO), 83.45 doctors working in gynaecology and dentistry are charging for the newly-imposed co-insurance fees, the statement said.
According to collective data from 16 Croatian counties, 68.92 general practitioners have begun implementing the healthcare reform, refuting claims by Dr. Mario Malnar from the General Practitioners’ Association. He claims that over 80 percent of general practitioners have refused to charge patients co-insurance fees and that gynaecologists and paediatricians are joining in.
