The hearing of Milan Spanovic, Croatian Serb began with the cross-examination in Great Britain.
The extradition procedure of Milan Spanovic is continued, who, in spite of a valid verdict for war crime and an Interpol arrest warrant, has a permit for unlimited stay in Great Britain.
During the trial many inconveniences for the British as well as the Croatian authorities surfaced.
Namely, the question is how did limited stay become unlimited which is only a step away from British citizenship.
I do not know how it came to that because the recording secretary`s notes were illegible, a British Home Office representative justified.
Spanovic also stated how he visited the British consulate in London numerous times in 2001 where he requested passports for his children.
Croatian authorities defended themselves in a written response how “it is not up to the British Embassy to reveal where people from arrest warrants are, nor has the Embassy any authorities on foreign turf”, the Jutarnji list daily reports.
